Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) - Labor & Delivery
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs the primary functions of a professional nurse in assessing, planning, directing and evaluating patient care in obstetrics. Provides care to women and their newborns. Provides support and monitors vital signs of the mother and baby during birth. Provides education and support to mothers and their families during and after giving birth.
Supervised by: OB Department Supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
●Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
●Current Texas Registered Nurse License required.
●One year experience as a Registered Nurse with experience in obstetric care preferred.
●Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum and nursery care preferred, but not required.
●Current BLS for healthcare professionals required at time of hire.
●NRP certification required within six months of hire.
●Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
●Basic computer knowledge required.
